In 2014, Diane Fahey received a New Work Grant from the Literature Board of the Australia Council, to support the writing of a poetry collection set in the West of Ireland. She will be travelling in Ireland for long periods during 2015 and 2016 while writing and researching this book, to be titled West.
The Stone Garden: Poems from Clare was shortlisted for the Kenneth Slessor Poetry Prize of the NSW Premier’s Awards, 2014.
A House by the River, a poetry collection set in Barwon Heads, which centres on the six years the poet lived with her mother as her carer, is forthcoming from Puncher & Wattmann in 2015.
Sanctuaries, a poetry collection focusing on birds and the natural environment, will be published by Whitmore Press in 2016.
